It is my personal journey that fuels the heart of my work and informs my passion to help men thrive.  Over 20 years ago I started a journey to cure myself of debilitating depression and a history of a declining male lineage that was hell bent on self-destruction.  After many failed medical interventions, it was the grace and power of men’s work and a powerful male initiation that got me back on my feet.  Since then I have coached and been coached by many powerful men who taught me and challenged me to find the source of my power.  For over ten years I have been a part of men’s teams, have coached men from all walks of life, and have worked with incarcerated men in the Choices program, City of San Mateo, with my business partner Michael Allen.   It is this ongoing journey, and the life experiences as a son, father, husband, seeker,  and entrepreneur that drives my passion to work with men so that we can collectively create lives of meaning, joy and full expression.

I live in Marin County and am a husband to my wonderful life Lisa of fourteen years, father to two beautiful children, Kayla and Isaac.

Michael J. Allen, MA is a Social Worker, Speaker, facilitator, coach and co-founder of MenSpeak. He has delivered hundreds of successful transformational training programs and workshops in varied settings including schools, faith-based, corporate, correctional institutions and youth summer camps.  He is the co-founder of MenSpeak, along with his good friend and business partner, Jonathan Levy.

In 1995 my work with men began with me. I made the decision to take responsibility for having the unconditional love I wanted and needed in my life.  I was taught the power of creating a vision for my life. My vision is to be a Loving Presence. My vision became my reference point. This means no matter what circumstance or conditions I may face in my life being a Loving Presence is the goal.

I began writing and telling stories that led me to speaking and teaching in the county jail and the state prison system in California. I co-created a program called “The Incarceration of The Mind,” with Jonathan Levy. This program was designed for men and women who are incarcerated in the county and state prison system. The intention of the program is to teach self-love, personal empowerment and how to become the Master of your thinking.

Since 1998 I have been speaking and teaching in school settings to teach youth ways to break down barriers between individuals and groups, and to create a more peaceful and loving school climate. I have delivered the message of love, personal leadership, acceptance and personal transformation in more than 600 schools throughout the U.S. and Canada.
